Navigating Indonesia's Aquaculture with Ecowater
Ecowater had the honor of taking part in a spectacular excursion to Indonesia, to learn more about the country's shrimp farming sector and discover potential for shrimp company development. In this blog, I will discuss our observations and opinions on the shrimp business while in Indonesia.
To begin, we traveled to well-known shrimp farming districts in Indonesia to learn about the present state and historical evolution of the local shrimp sector. As one of the world's leading shrimp producers, Indonesia has an abundance of aquatic resources, particularly salt fields, and mangroves, which are great conditions for shrimp development. The primary shrimp species farmed locally are White Leg Shrimp and Black Tiger Shrimp, both of which have excellent production and yield scales. We got great ideas about shrimp farming, disease control, water quality management, and other areas through interactions with local shrimp farmers, all of which are important for the development of our company's shrimp business.

Second, we looked at successful shrimp aquaculture case studies and uncovered new technology and methods that improve shrimp farming efficiency. For example, we came across a shrimp farm that was using an intelligent monitoring system to provide real-time observation and management of pond conditions, thereby minimizing disease incidence and improving shrimp productivity. In addition, several farms experimented with UV sterilization to improve water quality and investigate alternatives to chemical agents. UV sterilizers from Ecowater have been installed and used in various shrimp farms across multiple cities. Ecowater intends to advance and flourish in Indonesia's shrimp farming sector.
We learned about diverse demands for breeding different species while knowing our clients' wants. Eel, koi carp, African catfish, grouper, and other high-value species, etc... While the South American white shrimp sector remains a foundation in Indonesia, capable investors are also looking for diversification in aquaculture species. Ecowater's RAS system experience has been extremely valuable in catering to our client's future investments by offering reliable systems and equipment for hatching, fingerling production, and grow-out phases to service the market.
However, we noticed many important concerns that must be solved. Scaling up and standardizing shrimp aquaculture in Indonesia offers several hurdles, although small-scale farms can enhance their management and technology. Environmental issues must also be addressed, as shrimp aquaculture expansion has resulted in water pollution and ecological devastation in some locations. To address these problems, we believe that sticking to sustainable development principles and focusing on ecological conservation and social responsibility are vital to guaranteeing the long-term sustainable growth of the shrimp business. We also went to the INDO FISHERY show in Surabaya. We saw several novel technologies and equipment during the show and met many passionate and professional practitioners.
Reflecting on this instructive trip, we are glad for the wonderful vision obtained from seeing Indonesia's shrimp farming industry's vigorous rise. We will use the information and discoveries from this voyage to our shrimp company, constantly improving our technical skills and management processes, providing additional possibilities, and positively contributing to the shrimp industry's success.
Furthermore, Ecowater has long-standing relationships with several important clients in Indonesia. We did follow-up visits throughout this trip, offering product installations, technical help, and after-sales support. We visited numerous well-run wastewater treatment plants, the majority of which serve local food processing wastewater treatment. For almost eight years, our provided Aeration System have been functioning smoothly.
We also took notice of the Indonesian government's attitude on water resources. Ecowater's one of the key services is water treatment. Our recently launched Rotary Aerator has been tested in several wastewater treatment plants. Our long-standing clients have been drawn to its maintenance-free, non-clogging, and cost-effective installation advantages. Furthermore, its energy-saving features were a major priority in our clients' testing. Ecowater operates in both the aquaculture and wastewater treatment sectors, while constantly improving and creating new products based on client input and industry trends.
Ecowater, a specialist wastewater treatment firm, has used previous skills to enter the aquaculture market. We believe that governments throughout the world will promote development among aquaculture operators, fueled by their water resource management and environmental views. Thank you for taking the time to read about our expedition; we look forward to seeing further success in our shrimp company in the future!
Miss Mylana, our director, will return to Jakarta next month, and Ecowater will meet both new and old clients at the internationally recognized show “INDO WATER”. We looking forward to hearing from you!
